Today, as Roe vs. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey were disgustingly overturned, it is clear that the government does not care about the babies and children being gunned down yearly in schools while overfunded and militarized police stand by doing nothing. Instead, old, racist politicians are obsessed with controlling the bodies of said childrens’ mothers and other women rather than actually caring about the state of the world babies are being born into. In addition, the Black maternal mortality rate is already dangerously high.

“In 2020, the maternal mortality rate for non-Hispanic Black women was 55.3 deaths per 100,000 live births, 2.9 times the rate for non-Hispanic White women… Rates for non-Hispanic Black women were significantly higher than rates for non-Hispanic White and Hispanic women. The increases from 2019 to 2020 for non-Hispanic Black and Hispanic women were significant.”

We are living in an absolute nightmare that makes you wonder what they will deem worthy of overturning in the constitution next. Clarence “sellout” Thomas is apparently already eyeing contraception and same-sex marriage for the supreme court to target next.

I don’t know about you all, but I refuse to bring a child into the plot of a Stephen King novel without going full Ben Richards. Being a Black woman is both phenomenal and frightening.
